Month: March 2025

Our challenge today was to co-construct ways we can make the most of our learning time in LS2. We thought about what we expected to happen so we could make teh most of our learning time then thought about what our teachers expected. I collaborated with my group which I enjoyed because i did it with my friends. This activity was fun  because we collaborated with other groups and worked together.

The Kokako Bird

Our Year 7/8 camp was at Kokako Lodge in Hunua. Our challenge today was to use our smart searching skills to find out about the kokako bird and create an infographic to share the facts we researched in our own words Something I found interesting about the kokako bird was how smart it is by watching other animals eat before they eat.

High Beam A Moment In Time

At camp we had lots of challenge activities to try. Our challenge in with our poem was to chose our words carefully so that we painted a clear picture of what we were describing in the mind of our readers. Unique and I have described what it was like to be on the high beam. We chose this challenge because i have a fear of heights and i will go on the high beam to not be of heights anymore.

Samuel Marsden Research

We used our smart searching skills to research facts about Samuel Marsden. To make sure our facts were correct, we used three different websites. The websites I used were Goblin Tools, Padlet, and Wikipedia.

Something interesting I found out about Samuel Marsden was he visited New Zealand seven times. I learned it is important to use my own words because when I looked it up on the internet, it had words I don’t know.

Our Flags

To understand the story behind our flag,Our challenge today was to create a collaborative presentation that reflects the story behind our NZ flag. We did this by looking at how our flag has changed over time Something I found interesting was how the New Zealand has a flag with a blue background and a big blue and white Union Jack in the corner. It has four red stars, which are like the stars you see in the night sky. These stars represent the Southern Cross(stars in the night sky) Some people want a different flag that is more special to New Zealand and shows its own culture better.
